Participating in Ocean Fishing<\/strong><\/small>
Every two hours, players have a fifteen-minute window to register by speaking with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7). If you wish to enter as a party, the party leader must be the one to speak with the NPC.
* Players will be matched together to form a full party when participating solo or with a party of fewer than eight members.
* The ship will depart even if there are fewer than 24 crew members.
When ocean fishing is available, the NPC will be marked with an \u201c!\u201d icon on t<\/small>he map.
Availability and Routes<\/strong><\/small>
Depending on the time slot, the route taken and time of arrival at the destination may vary. For more information, speak with Dryskthota on the Limsa Lominsa lower decks (X:3.0 Y:12.7) and select \u201cView Sailing Schedule.\u201d You can also set an alarm for the time of departure via subcommands<\/small>.
Fishing on the <\/strong><\/small>Endeavor<\/em><\/strong><\/small>
Th<\/small>e Endeavor<\/em><\/small> sails to fishing locations such as Costa del Sol and Horizon, allowing you to see the sights of Eorzea as never before. Players will have seven minutes to reel in fish at each location, with various rewards on offer.<\/small>
Bait<\/strong><\/small>
While Versatile Lures can be used, there are other types of lure created especially for the Endeavor. To purchase these lures, speak with the Merchant & Mender on the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:3.2 Y:12.8) or onboard the Endeavor (X:6.1 Y:6.1).
* Other types of lure may also be us<\/small>ed.
Points<\/strong><\/small>
Rewards are given according to the points earned during ocean fishing.
* Releasing or discarding fish will not reduce your point tot<\/small>al.
Records<\/strong><\/small>
Information on points earned, the three most recently caught fish, and time remaining can be viewed during the fishing trip.
You may also view a list of fish that you have caught in Score Overvi<\/small>ew.
Bonuses<\/strong><\/small>
Bonuses are awarded upon fulfilling certain conditions, either individually or as a group, which affect the rewards given upon completion<\/small>.
Spectral Currents<\/strong><\/small>
Spectral currents will appear under certain conditions and allow a greater number of fish to be caught for a limited time<\/small>.
Experience Point Gain<\/strong><\/small>
Ocean fishing awards experience points based on your level regardless of which fish are caught, making it ideal for leveling up<\/small>.
Completion<\/strong><\/small>
Once three fishing locations have been visited, the voyage will end and final results will be announced<\/small>.
Rewards<\/strong><\/small>
Rewards are given according to the total number of points earned. Each individual player\u2019s rewards differ according to current level.
1 to 49: EXP
50 to 79: EXP, Yellow Gatherers\u2019 Scrip
80: Yellow Gatherers\u2019 Scrip, White Gatherers\u2019 Scrip (certain conditions must be met to obtain this reward)
* Players who abandon ocean fishing prior to completion will not receive any rewards.
* To obtain gatherer\u2019s scrips, players must first complete the quest \u201cInscruta<\/small>ble Tastes.\u201d

\u2013 Known issue: An issue wherein the action \u201cCast\u201d cannot be used at the following fishing spots: Central Thanalan: The Clutch, Northern Thanalan: Ceruleum Field, Southern Thanalan: Burnt Lizard Creek

5.21<\/a>:
\u2013 [3.x] Gatherer-exclusive content has been added to the Diadem.

\u2013 Bug fix: An issue in ocean fishing wherein participating in subsequent instances caused the message \u201cThe fish sense something amiss. Perhaps it is time to try another location.\u201d to display, preventing the player from catching fish.
\u2013 Known issue: An issue in the Diadem wherein it is not possible to cast at certain fishing locations.
\u2013 Known issue: An issue wherein the text describing the aetheromatic auger incorrectly states that compressed aether can be increased by fishers. Compressed aether can only be increased by miners and botanists.

\u2013 Bug fix: An issue in the Diadem wherein the explanation of the aetheromatic auger erroneously stated that it can be charged by gathering as a fisher.<\/p>

\u2013 [2.x] The Auto Sneak trait for Disciples of the Land has been adjusted.
Before: Automatically activates Sneak upon changing your class to miner\/botanist\/fisher.
After: Automatically activates Sneak upon changing your class to miner\/botanist\/fisher. Effect is also automatically activated upon changing area<\/small>s.
\u2013 [5.x] New fish have been added.
\u2013 [2.x] The following adjustments have been made to ocean fishing:
\u2013 Points earned for fish you have reeled in will now be displayed
* When reeling in a high-quality fish or multiple fish using Double Hook, a composite score will be displayed.
\u2013 Fish that award bonus points will now be indicated with a special i<\/small>con.
\u2013 [2.x][4.x][5.x] The requirements for catching certain fish with special conditions have been added to the Fishing Log.
* The conditions for catching these fish have not been changed.<\/small>

Fisher: After completing the quest \u201cIn Everyone\u2019s Best Interests,\u201d players will be able to purchase the signature skyball, a special bait used to catch fish required to upgrade your Skysteel tool from specified fishing locations.
* Skysteel tools must be equipped when catching the required fish.
* The signature skyball can be purchased from Denys in the Skysteel Manufactory (X:8.0 Y:10<\/small>.0).
\u2013 [5.x] New fish have been added.<\/p>

5.4<\/a>:
\u2013 [2.x][4.x][5.x] New aquarium fish have been added.
\u2013 [2.x][4.x][5.x] The following adjustments were made to Disciple of the Land actions:
Fish Eyes:<\/small><\/strong>
The effects of this action have been changed. Rather than targeting specific fish in a given area, this action now ignores the time requirement of fish for the duration of its effect.
* This action has no effect on legendary fish, fish found when ocean fishing, or any fish introduced from Stormblood onward.
MP cost has been increased from 350 to 550.
Now has an effect duration of 60 s<\/small>econds.
In accordance with the changes made to Fish Eyes, the following adjustments have also been made:<\/strong><\/small>
Fish that could only be caught while using Fish Eyes no longer require that action to be found.
In light of this change, the probability of certain fish appearing and the chance they can be caught will be adjusted to ensure no fish are overly difficult to catch.
The bait required to catch Fossiltongue has been changed from Granite Crab to Magma Worm.
The bait required to catch Capelin has been changed from Purse Web Spider to Stonefl<\/small>y Nymph.
\u2013 [2.x] The appearance of gathering points and teeming waters on the minimap have been adjusted to indicate elevation.
\u2013 [2.x] When fishing, warning messages will now be displayed before fish are fully aware of your presence.
\u2013 [2.x][4.x][5.x] The following additions and adjustments have been made to the Fishing Log:
\u2013 The requirements for catching certain fish with special conditions have been added to the Fishing Log.
* The conditions for catching these fish have not been changed.
\u2013 Information for swimming shadows has been added to the Fishing Log.
* Fishing spots for these fish discovered prior to the release of Patch 5.4 will be marked as undiscovered. Information for these entries in the Fishing Log, including all previously caught fish, will display again after fishing at these loca<\/small>tions.
\u2013 [2.x][5.x] New fishing holes have been added.
\u2013 [2.x] The following additions and adjustments have been made to ocean fishing:
\u2013 New routes have been added.
\u2013 New bonuses have been added.
\u2013 Missions have been added for ocean fishing.
Upon boarding the ship, players will receive three missions from the captain. To complete a mission, a player must catch the required number of designated fish, with bonus points being added to a player\u2019s score at the end of the voyage based on the number of missions completed.
\u2013 Players who abandon ocean fishing prior to completion cannot embark on another voyage until registration re-opens.
* However, players are not prohibited from registering for other duties.
\u2013 The requirement for bonuses received for catching ten types of fish or more at a single destination will now be adjusted based on the number of participants.
A party of eight or more players requires ten types of fish or more, a party of seven players requires nine types of fish or more, and a party of six or fewer players requires eight types of fish or more.
\u2013 In the event you do not experience spectral current weather at a fishing location, the chance of encountering a spectral current is increased at your next destination.
\u2013 In the event a spectral current does not appear at a destination, or a spectral current appears shortly before traveling to a new destination, the next spectral current to appear will have an increased duration.
\u2013 The number of fish caught using Double Hook when fishing for silencer or Bartholomew the Chopper<\/small> has been increased.<\/p>

5.41<\/a>:

This new action further streamlines the process of automatically releasing fish when caught.
Using this action will not only display a list of all fish set to be automatically released when caught, but also all fish available in the fishing hole, provided they have been registered in the Fish Guide.
* This action has no effect on fish that have yet to be logged in the Fish Guide.
* This action cannot be used at a fishing hole where none of the fish have been registered in the Fish Guide.
Following the addition of this action, certain fish that cannot be registered in the Fish Guide, such as those only available during quests, can no longer be released when <\/small>fishing.
\u2013 [2.x][4.x][5.x] New fish have been added.
\u2013 [2.x] Dolphins and seagulls will now appear when ocean fishing.
Encountering a pod of dolphins and seagulls will grant beneficial effects to those aboard the ship.<\/small>

\u2013 Bug fix: An issue when fishing wherein, under certain conditions, the actions Identical Cast and Surface Slap could be used when it should not have been possible.
