– Mosasaur and Stormchaser = DH 1
– Oscar/Manta DH 4 = 2300
– Best option is Manta
– Stormchaser and Mosasaur are traps, seeming to be similar to Gobbie Mask from 5.2
Manta is pretty technical. More fun way to spend 10 days though does not appear to widely be considered as the best though I am quite certain it is.
However most of my information about the other fish is second-hand as I started on Manta quite quickly. From what has been reported or observed though, nothing appears it will come close.
I am quite certain I can be more efficient on Manta as well, while there is limited room for optimisation on Stormchaser/Mosasaur. Oscar would need to be much higher bite rate than Manta to be superior, though I think GP constraints would still limit it.
Fishing for Manta involves using skills in a reactive/less predictable way though which is where the contention about what is best may lie.
There is no one, consistent way to use skills, at least while being efficient. Very satisfying to me personally, and also better suits something with a competitive aspect to it better.
Also involves proactive use of Surface Slap. This is very nice as I very much dislike Surface Slap, at least with how it’s normally best used.
Overall this seems to be much more enjoyable than last phase. Should have higher yield/lockout than last phase as well.
