Spearfisher’s Intuition Progress
Catching the Hedonfish from Western Akyaali to spawn the Outer Akyaali swimming shadows node breaks progress towards the Spearfisher’s Intuition for Tebqeyiq Smelt.
The intuition is triggered by 2 Xiphactinus and 3 Dusty Sharks.
8 Xiphactinus and 3 Dusky Sharks were caught at the two above swimming shadow attempts.
This is reasonable to expect. You are fishing at a new node so progress gets broken in the way that Fisher’s Intuition progress gets broken by fishing at a new fishing hole.
But a curiosity due to how Fisher’s Intuition and spearfishing in general interact (they don't).
With spearfishing coming to the forefront in EW, more questions about it and Fisher’s Intuition come up again.
Fishing and spearfishing are separate. The Fishing Log alone indicates that.
But, spearfishing does not reset amiss from fishing so that alone is indicator via gameplay that the two are separate.
But tested on Warden in the unlikely event something changed in EW:
- Caught 3 Firelight and 5 Green Prismfish at Prism Lake.
- Positional amiss gotten at Prism Lake.
- Went spearfishing. Caught the six types of fish after Firelight in my inventory while doing so.
- Return to the exact position I caught the Firelight and Green Prismfish at. Still have positional amiss. This can be verified in the top image's chat log.
- Move. Catch 3 Indigo. Trigger Fisher’s Intuition. This can be see in the bottom image.
Spearfishing and fishing do not interact with eachother at all as far as the game is considered. So spearfishing will not not reset amiss nor does it break Fisher’s Intuition progress.
The inverse of this cannot currently be tested despite Spearfisher’s Intuition now existing because currently the only one is from a swimming shadows node, of which the progress gets broken by spearfishing to respawn the node.
