Thavnairian Calamari Efficiency

Triple Hook almost exclusively is the most efficient method of fishing, however there are still multiple approaches.
Canceling at 7.5/8s saves substantial bait and does not impact yield. It is either equivalent or higher yield than IC-TH/DH at 10 seconds.

Possible to macro it to semi-afk, but there can be caveats. Using the below macro as a baseline:

/ac “Hook”

Bite times:
- Calamari: 6 - 10s, most often by 7.5s
- Octopus: 7.5+, not often at 7.5-8 but often enough
- It is possible to blind TH Calamari up to 7.5s

Optimisation:
1. Use the above macro. Doing so comes with an ~18% chance for Narunnairian Octopus. This will use less bait overall and be about equivalent to the yield of using IC-TH/DH up to 10 seconds.

2. Use the above macro while at or above 700 GP then a 10 second macro when without GP.
This will result in the same amount of Octopus TH. In terms of yield, it is slightly better than the above, but still roughly equivalent to IC-DH/TH. It uses less bait than IC-DH/TH but more than the above method.

3. Use the above macro without the “/ac Triple Hook” line and cancel casts at ~7.5s. Macros do not allow for fractions of a second so this needs to be done manually. The 8s Hook allows for user-error to ensure the Cast is not out any longer than is needed.
Not accounting for user error, this is the highest-yield method and saves the most bait possible. However, due to the quick bite times this requires paying a substantial amount of attention.

4. Remove the last <wait.1> from the 7 second line and have the macro stop at 7s. This allows to semi-afk it with 100% of catches being Thavnairian Calamari, however because Calamari bites fairly often from 7-7.5s this will impact yield/hr but is guaranteed to save the most bait possible as it will only be used on Calamari.

In order to illustrate how marginal the overlap is, the tables below show the quantity of bites for each fish were in a given time frame. The quantity of Narunnairian Octopus is the amount I encountered while fishing for the Calamari.
