Mayashell Aetherial Reduction Study

Work documented in this spreadsheet.

Like big fish, this fish has hard gathering and perception breakpoints, and also a significant escape rate.

Gathering: 2960
Perception: 2480

Escape Rate:
21.16%
Bite Rate: 54.71%
Bonus Chance: 12.06%

Lowest Reported Glioaether: 814
Lowest Reported Bonus: 840

Information

  • Mayashell is the FSH equivalent of the prime/sublime MIN/BTN collectables.
    • It does not have a prime or sublime version. Instead, it can have a Bonus at which you get 2 instead of 1.
  • It appears that there is a 100% chance to get a Glioaether when the collectable is within the range in which it is possible to get a Bonus (840 - 865).
    • There isn't a 100% chance that it will reduce into a Glioaether if its 814 - 839.
    • Below 814, it will never reduce into a Glioaether.
  • If you meet the perception breakpoint, Patience II will result in a Glioaether-eligible collectable. Alternatively: if it is large-sized, it will able to yield Glioaether (not guaranteed).
    • Perception above the minimum has not been found to have any benefit. When using Patience II while at or far above the minimum perception yields the same range of large-sized ones.
  • It appears to have a ~20% escape rate. Increasing gathering has not been found to decrease this chance.

About

  • Reduction data is an aggregate of reports from members of the Fisherman's Horizon discord.
  • Bonus chance is based on the amount of Bonuses in the data from the known range Bonus is possible.
  • Escape rate data is my personal data at 3114 gathering. It is the amount of Mayashell bites after a Handy Hamsa mooch using the correct Hookset, and the number of which escape.
  • Bite rate data is my personal data for the number of Handy Hamsa mooches and the number of which result in a Mayashell bite, catch or no, during Mayashell windows.
